Jonathan Taylor is capturing the hearts of fantasy players everywhere, but it's very possible this backfield can support three fantasy-relevant running backs. Mack is coming off a 1,000-yard season rushing behind this offensive line and is a very talented player. His contract is up after this year and he'll be clamoring for touches to boost his free agency value. The Colts are arguably the best fantasy situation for running backs due to their elite offensive line, steady QB play, and expected high number of run plays per game. Mack is more than a handcuff and he has solid value early in the season.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
The Colts' decision to draft guards Quenton Nelson sixth overall and Braden Smith 37th overall in '18 suggested a commitment to the running game. Mack is likely to begin 2020 as Indy's No. 2 back to rookie Jonathan Taylor.San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan has an affinity for Coleman, a solid runner and receiving threat Shanahan had when he was Atlanta's offensive coordinator. He'll likely begin 2020 as the 49ers' No. 2 back behind Raheem Mostert.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
We never reached the expected performance out of Mack behind the Colts top-tier offensive line, so why shouldn't we have expected them to draft a running back? Drafting Jonathan Taylor in the second round was a straight dagger to Mack's value in any format. He'll be lucky to get eight touches per game in that offense this year. Now that Matt Breida is out of town, you'd think there's more opportunity to be had for Coleman in this backfield, but the return of Jerick McKinnon could affect that. After seeing 16-plus carries in three of his first four games with the 49ers, Coleman never got more than 12 for the remainder of the season. He's best suited for a timeshare role and somewhat of a handcuff to Raheem Mostert. If Mostert were to miss time, Coleman would likely be an every-week RB2.

The cheaper of the two top backs in San Francisco, an ideal flex spot filler
Dalton Kates
APEX Fantasy Leagues
Solid producer the past couple seasons. Should be in a committee for the early part of the season, but has risk of being overtaken by stud rookie Jonathan Taylor and becoming 2nd fiddle as the season progresses. The "starter" for SF. Had a couple productive games last year before getting hurt and Mostert running hot. Offers 3 down ability and the Shanahan offense is a gold mine for RBs.
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
Marlon Mack and the Colts backfield will be one of the trickiest to figure out over the next few weeks leading up to the season. In 12 games last year, Mack still managed to eclipse 1,000 rushing yards and scored eight TDs. His major drawbacks will be the addition of rookie Jonathan Taylor and the fact that he only saw 17 targets last year. If you draft any piece of this backfield, make sure to handcuff.Coleman is one part of one of the most confusing backfields in the NFL. Coleman continues to be labeled as the starter but it's Raheem Mostert who has been the more productive pf the two. Coleman has a chance to finish as a solid flex option but trusting anyone in RB in San Francisco is a risk.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
With Jonathan Taylor now in town, Mack's upside is completely gone. He's still going to be involved in this offense, but it might not be enough to be a factor for fantasy football. With that being said, if something were to happen to Taylor, Mack's value would skyrocket.Despite playing only 14 games last year, Coleman still finished as the RB36. He hasn't been able to recapture the magic he had in Atlanta several years ago, but he's still a fine option for your fantasy football roster. With that being said, Coleman is an intriguing hold right now in every format due to the recent news regarding Raheem Mostert. If Mostert is traded, as he has requested, Coleman becomes the de factor RB1 in Kyle Shanahan's offense. Coleman would most likely be considered a top-24 option at that point.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
Tevin Coleman and Raheem Mostert each carried the ball 137 times in 2019, Mostert had 228 more yards rushing. @willson8tor Tevin Coleman and Raheem Mostert each totaled 180 receiving yards in 2019, Mostert had 33.3% fewer receptions (RM 14/22, TC 21/30). @willson8tor
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
And with one draft pick, Marlon Mack was done. That seemed to be the sentiment in the fantasy community! Slowly it's become clearly that this will, at least initially, look a lot more like a committee. That makes Marlon Mack a startable fantasy commodity early in the season with handcuff upside if Taylor goes down. Unfortunately Nyheim Hines is a limiting factor and that moves him below many of the other elite handcuffs and I'll likely be avoiding him in most situations.Tevin Coleman will continue the career-backup role he had last season outside two outlier 105 yard games. Raheem Mostert is so clearly the better back and while Kyle Shanahan will occasionally give the backfield over to Coleman when he has the "hot hand", Coleman really needs an injury to Mostert before you can comfortably start him in fantasy. I'll be avoiding this mess this year whenever I can help it.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Coleman had several excellent games, but was all but irrelevant late in the year when Raheem Mostert took over as the primary back. Mostert will almost certainly lead the way in 2020, but given the turnover in 2019, Coleman could get his shot again at some point. If he does receive the lion's share of the carries in San Francisco, it's a perfect situation, as the 49ers ran the ball 51% of the time last year, second most in the league. Heading into 2020 drafts, however, Coleman is nothing more than a high-end handcuff for your bench.
Seth Miller
Crossroads Fantasy Football
Did NOT survive the draft haha. Coaches have said it will be a 1-1 punch with Mack and Taylor. Even if that's true, you obviously want the more explosive Taylor of the 2. There has been a bit of complaining about how his pass catching was never fully utilized in the pros, because he was capable in college. That is probably because he is terrible in passpro, never ranking above 60, according to PFF, and below 30 his last 2 years(out of 100). If you draft him, you hope for a Latavius Murray like roll.
