Jacob Wayne
Lineups
Phillip Lindsay has been tremendously successful since joining the Broncos as an undrafted free agent two years ago - he's rushed for 1,000+ yards twice, has caught 70 balls, and has 17 total touchdowns despite sharing work with Royce Freeman and Devontae Booker. Melvin Gordon will eat into Lindsay's workload more than either player did. With the one-two- punch of Gordon and Lindsay, the team's real-life rushing attack should be potent, but it's going to be tough to trust either guy on a weekly basis.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Lindsay was a pleasant surprise as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2018, but he wasn't nearly as effective last season. Unless Melvin Gordon struggles or misses time with an injury, Lindsay is unlikely to carry significant fantasy value in 2020.San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan has an affinity for Coleman, a solid runner and receiving threat Shanahan had when he was Atlanta's offensive coordinator. He'll likely begin 2020 as the 49ers' No. 2 back behind Raheem Mostert.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
I don't think I've ever seen someone glanced over as easily as Lindsay in both real life and fantasy. Over the last two years, here are the only players who have more rushing yards than him: Ezekiel Elliott, Derrick Henry, Nick Chubb, Christian McCaffrey, Chris Carson, Saquon Barkley, Joe Mixon, and Todd Gurley. Now that Matt Breida is out of town, you'd think there's more opportunity to be had for Coleman in this backfield, but the return of Jerick McKinnon could affect that. After seeing 16-plus carries in three of his first four games with the 49ers, Coleman never got more than 12 for the remainder of the season. He's best suited for a timeshare role and somewhat of a handcuff to Raheem Mostert. If Mostert were to miss time, Coleman would likely be an every-week RB2.
Rob Wilson
The Fantasy Footballers
Underrated potential RB3. Denver would be wise to keep a back to back 1k rusher on the field in some capacityThe cheaper of the two top backs in San Francisco, an ideal flex spot filler
Dalton Kates
APEX Fantasy Leagues
1of 5 RBs to have 1k yards on the ground and 35 receptions in each of the past two seasons. A do-it-all producer who now likely enters as the 2nd fiddle to Gordon. There's reason to believe Lindsay is the better RB at this stage in their career and Gordon won't take over a workhorse role. Lindsay can make this a committee. The "starter" for SF. Had a couple productive games last year before getting hurt and Mostert running hot. Offers 3 down ability and the Shanahan offense is a gold mine for RBs.
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
Lindsay finds himself in a difficult situation this year now that Melvin Gordon has been added to the Broncos backfield. While I don't expect Gordon to come in immediately take the lions-share of the work, there's no doubt this is going to be a timeshare. It's hard to trust Lindsay as anything more than a flex option at this point.Coleman is one part of one of the most confusing backfields in the NFL. Coleman continues to be labeled as the starter but it's Raheem Mostert who has been the more productive pf the two. Coleman has a chance to finish as a solid flex option but trusting anyone in RB in San Francisco is a risk.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
While Lindsay is one of the more talented running backs in the NFL, Melvin Gordon's presence in Denver puts a bit of a damper on Lindsay's fantasy outlook in 2020. Lindsay will still be involved in this offense, but he'll be moved to more of a change-of-pace option.Despite playing only 14 games last year, Coleman still finished as the RB36. He hasn't been able to recapture the magic he had in Atlanta several years ago, but he's still a fine option for your fantasy football roster. With that being said, Coleman is an intriguing hold right now in every format due to the recent news regarding Raheem Mostert. If Mostert is traded, as he has requested, Coleman becomes the de factor RB1 in Kyle Shanahan's offense. Coleman would most likely be considered a top-24 option at that point.
Kevin Wheeler

Might not mean much because of $$$ invested, but ... 2019 @PFF rushing grade: Phillip Lindsay - 8th Melvin Gordon - 23rd 2019 Elusive Rating: Phillip Lindsay - 25th Melvin Gordon - 34th 2019 PFF receiving grade: Phillip Lindsay - 37th Melvin Gordon - 37th Phillip Lindsay is one of the more interesting ZeroRB candidates. Size/speed profile of receiving backs who break out most often, but the workload splits of a larger, run-heavy backs @KevinColePFFTevin Coleman and Raheem Mostert each carried the ball 137 times in 2019, Mostert had 228 more yards rushing. @willson8tor Tevin Coleman and Raheem Mostert each totaled 180 receiving yards in 2019, Mostert had 33.3% fewer receptions (RM 14/22, TC 21/30). @willson8tor
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Undrafted sophomore cum Pro Bowler Phillip Lindsay has copped a brutal blow to his fantasy value in the form of stud RB Melvin Gordon. While Lindsay managed two 1000+ yard season in a committee, he now sits on the wrong side of what will likely be a 60-30-10 split with Lindsay taking the less valuable between-the-tackles work while Gordon gets most of the goal line and receiving work. While Lindsay will still have some big weeks due to his ability to break off explosive plays, he's highly likely to see single digit carries most weeks. That makes him little more than a high value handcuff with spot-start upside in a pinch.Tevin Coleman will continue the career-backup role he had last season outside two outlier 105 yard games. Raheem Mostert is so clearly the better back and while Kyle Shanahan will occasionally give the backfield over to Coleman when he has the "hot hand", Coleman really needs an injury to Mostert before you can comfortably start him in fantasy. I'll be avoiding this mess this year whenever I can help it.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Coleman had several excellent games, but was all but irrelevant late in the year when Raheem Mostert took over as the primary back. Mostert will almost certainly lead the way in 2020, but given the turnover in 2019, Coleman could get his shot again at some point. If he does receive the lion's share of the carries in San Francisco, it's a perfect situation, as the 49ers ran the ball 51% of the time last year, second most in the league. Heading into 2020 drafts, however, Coleman is nothing more than a high-end handcuff for your bench.
