The Seahawks added Lacy and they do have Prosise sniffing around for touches too, but they appear committed to still get the ball in Rawls' hands too. With that being said, his ceiling is limited and he shouldn't be start-worthy many weeks because of the abysmal Seahawks' offensive line. The Broncos may very well cut Charles, and even if they don't, it seems apparent that CJ Anderson is their guy. With that being said, this is the all-time NFL yards-per carry leader that we are talking about so he shouldn't be ruled out for a potential RB1 season if everything falls into place.

NFL Mock
Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls ankle injury will hold him out of week 2 preseason action on Friday. It's being called a minor injury and Eddie Lacy is now expected to be the starting tailback for the second preseason game. When it was first announced that Rawls would get the start I thought nothing of it, teams usually rest their banged-up players week 2 anyway. Week 3 is what we really care about, but if they're resting Rawls this week that becomes somewhat questionable. We should probably consider this a full blown committee at this point, in which case you can read our "Difference Makers" article to see who I think is worthy of drafting in this backfield. https://twitter.com/pyro_hartbeat/status/898253303213039616"So far so good on Jamaal Charles. "Every time I see him," said offensive coordinator Mike McCoy, "he says, 'I feel great.'" Charles has missed 24 of 32 games over the past two regular seasons, and he told me-at least as of now-he has zero knee pain. Denver's looking to get him eight or 10 touches a game if he can survive." If Jamaal Charles gets 8-10 touches per game it projects out to 128 rushes for 700 yards, for 0.5TD, and 32 receptions for 275 yards and 1 TD based on career averages. Solid numbers, but not exactly jaw dropping, and at his current 9th round ADP I think we can find safer value elsewhere.

With Eddie Lacy in the fold, Rawls' value takes a big hit. I like Lacy more than Rawls and will draft accordingly. We will need some extremely positive reports about Charles this training camp for me to move him too far up the rankings, but we know what he can do when healthy.
Sablich Brothers
5th Down Fantasy
Was running with the ones over Lacy during the preseason opener. Has played just eight games over last two seasons; averaged 5.0 YPC when healthy in 2015; looking sharp at camp so far, but has to compete with not only Anderson but Booker.

QB List
Rawls burst onto the scene in a big way at the end of 2015. However, like Icarus, he flew too close to the sun and plummeted to earth. Rawls' late 2015 injury affected him throughout 2016, and now here we are, ranking him at nimber 58 out of 60. There is real upside here, but it would have to come in the form of straight up outplaying Eddie Lacy, an Eddie Lacy Injury, or barring either of those, Eddie Lacy getting indigestion or an asthma attack or something..

Rawls was a disappointment last season due to injuries and poor play. The addition of Lacy in Seattle makes it difficult for Rawls to have any real Fantasy value. Auction Value $4 Charles, much like Peterson, is toast. Don't be surprised if he is cut in the preseason. Auction Value $3
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
After averaging 5.6 yards per carry in his rookie season, Rawls just didn't look the same returning from his ankle surgery, averaging just 3.2 yards per carry. He's someone who continually works his way up my draft board, as he is reportedly looking more and more like his 2015-self. If that's the case, he could be one of the steals at the end of drafts. Sadly, this may be the end for J.C. He hasn't really 'played' in a year-and-a-half, and when he did, he wasn't the same player. After attempting to return from his second torn ACL, Charles wound up having to get both of his knees cleaned out towards the end of last season. He's still not participating in OTA's, so it's very likely that Devontae Booker beats him out for the change-of-pace role behind C.J. Anderson. Even if he sticks, he'll likely max out at 8-10 touches per game.
