The Seahawks added Lacy and they do have Prosise sniffing around for touches too, but they appear committed to still get the ball in Rawls' hands too. With that being said, his ceiling is limited and he shouldn't be start-worthy many weeks because of the abysmal Seahawks' offensive line.Murray was back on the field for a few snaps and from the early impression, it seems as though they will use him in the same capacity as Matt Asiata last season. That isn't to say he will be an every week fantasy asset, but he will get enough goal-line work to be relevant.
Andy Singleton
Fantrax
A better version of Asiata, who always had success in Minny? Don't give the rookie the entire pie just yet.

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls ankle injury will hold him out of week 2 preseason action on Friday. It's being called a minor injury and Eddie Lacy is now expected to be the starting tailback for the second preseason game. When it was first announced that Rawls would get the start I thought nothing of it, teams usually rest their banged-up players week 2 anyway. Week 3 is what we really care about, but if they're resting Rawls this week that becomes somewhat questionable. We should probably consider this a full blown committee at this point, in which case you can read our "Difference Makers" article to see who I think is worthy of drafting in this backfield. https://twitter.com/pyro_hartbeat/status/898253303213039616Latavius Murray (ankle, active/PUP) said his injury has put him "behind the 8-ball."
Chet Gresham
WalterFootball
With Eddie Lacy in the fold, Rawls' value takes a big hit. I like Lacy more than Rawls and will draft accordingly.Murray will need to beat out Dalvin Cook once he returns from his injury, and Cook has looked good this offseason. I expect Cook to win the majority of the touches.

5th Down Fantasy
Was running with the ones over Lacy during the preseason opener. Hard to see him beating out Cook for starting gig; 12 TDs last season more to do with Raiders stellar o-line; started camp on PUP.

Rawls burst onto the scene in a big way at the end of 2015. However, like Icarus, he flew too close to the sun and plummeted to earth. Rawls' late 2015 injury affected him throughout 2016, and now here we are, ranking him at nimber 58 out of 60. There is real upside here, but it would have to come in the form of straight up outplaying Eddie Lacy, an Eddie Lacy Injury, or barring either of those, Eddie Lacy getting indigestion or an asthma attack or something..Entering his fourth season, Murray now finds himself on a new team in a new role. He's been injured for most of training camp so far, and Dalvin Cook has begun to get some serious praise during that time. Murray's role at best will be as a touchdown dependant thumper.

Rawls was a disappointment last season due to injuries and poor play. The addition of Lacy in Seattle makes it difficult for Rawls to have any real Fantasy value. Auction Value $4 Murray's 12 touchdowns in Oakland last season saved an otherwise pedestrian campaign. This season, Minnesota rookie Dalvin Cook will likely make Murray a reserve. Auction Value $6
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
After averaging 5.6 yards per carry in his rookie season, Rawls just didn't look the same returning from his ankle surgery, averaging just 3.2 yards per carry. He's someone who continually works his way up my draft board, as he is reportedly looking more and more like his 2015-self. If that's the case, he could be one of the steals at the end of drafts. Despite finishing as the No. 13 running back in 2016, Murray wasn't very good, hence the reason the Raiders let him walk to sign a 31-year-old retired running back. Going from the Raiders offensive line that's ranked top-three in the NFL to the Vikings offensive line that ranks among the five worst was already a problem, but then he had foot surgery, and the Vikings traded up to draft Dalvin Cook in the second round. It's likely that Murray has seen his final days of fantasy relevance.
