FantasyPros
While Wayne Gallman may be Perkins' only competition, there is no guarantee he will hang onto this job. He was among the least talented and productive starting running backs last season so you ought to consider him one rough stretch from losing all the expected touches that have been driving up his ADP.The Seahawks added Lacy and they do have Prosise sniffing around for touches too, but they appear committed to still get the ball in Rawls' hands too. With that being said, his ceiling is limited and he shouldn't be start-worthy many weeks because of the abysmal Seahawks' offensive line.

Still can't figure out what this guy is or will be in 2017. He must be capable of holding down the fort, otherwise why didn't the Giants address it? With Jennings gone, there is a lot of ground game to give to somebody and right now, Perkins is the beneficiary. There's no way he doesn't come away from this season with at least 160 fantasy points in PPR leagues.
Kevin Wheeler
NFL Mock
Looks like he'll only be sharing the backfield with Vereen, but I'm sure the Giants will be drafting or buying someone they don't need.Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls ankle injury will hold him out of week 2 preseason action on Friday. It's being called a minor injury and Eddie Lacy is now expected to be the starting tailback for the second preseason game. When it was first announced that Rawls would get the start I thought nothing of it, teams usually rest their banged-up players week 2 anyway. Week 3 is what we really care about, but if they're resting Rawls this week that becomes somewhat questionable. We should probably consider this a full blown committee at this point, in which case you can read our "Difference Makers" article to see who I think is worthy of drafting in this backfield. https://twitter.com/pyro_hartbeat/status/898253303213039616

Perkins could be the Giants' No. 1 running back this year. We'll see how it goes, but he has the inside track at the moment, and if they use him well, his PPR upside could be great. With Eddie Lacy in the fold, Rawls' value takes a big hit. I like Lacy more than Rawls and will draft accordingly.
Sablich Brothers
5th Down Fantasy
Clear no. 1 option for GMen; zero rushing TDs in 2016 with Jennings on team; great upside potential if used more in passing game and goal line. Was running with the ones over Lacy during the preseason opener.
Staff Rankings
QB List
Perkins is not a special talent, but the Giants' overloaded WR corps means that he should rarely see stacked boxes. Still his TD upside is low.Rawls burst onto the scene in a big way at the end of 2015. However, like Icarus, he flew too close to the sun and plummeted to earth. Rawls' late 2015 injury affected him throughout 2016, and now here we are, ranking him at nimber 58 out of 60. There is real upside here, but it would have to come in the form of straight up outplaying Eddie Lacy, an Eddie Lacy Injury, or barring either of those, Eddie Lacy getting indigestion or an asthma attack or something..

Perkins came on toward the end of his rookie season, but don't expect much more than occasional flex value in 2017. Auction Value $7 Rawls was a disappointment last season due to injuries and poor play. The addition of Lacy in Seattle makes it difficult for Rawls to have any real Fantasy value. Auction Value $4
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
After the Giants passed on all free agent running backs, it appears to be the Perkins show in New York. He was better than perceived at the end of 2016, and will now be on the field with Odell Beckham Jr., Brandon Marshall, Sterling Shepard, and Evan Engram. He's going to see some light defensive fronts in a high-scoring offense. After averaging 5.6 yards per carry in his rookie season, Rawls just didn't look the same returning from his ankle surgery, averaging just 3.2 yards per carry. He's someone who continually works his way up my draft board, as he is reportedly looking more and more like his 2015-self. If that's the case, he could be one of the steals at the end of drafts.
