E.J. Manuel fails audition

Buffalo Bills QB E.J. Manuel was unimpressive in his first start in over a year, a Week 17 loss to the New York Jets. Manuel, who was given the start over the injured (and possibly departing) Tyrod Taylor, completed nine of his 20 pass attempts for 86 yards, adding just eight yards rushing on two attempts. He also lost a fumble on the afternoon, and was replaced in the fourth quarter by third string QB Cardale Jones.

Fantasy Impact:

This game was viewed as something of an audition for Manuel's future prospects. He once again showed that he is only marginally worthy of an NFL roster spot (despite Bills GM Doug Whaley's apparent feelings to the contrary). Even if he somehow ends up being a starter for the Bills, he is irrelevant for fantasy.
