Charles Clay ends season with a whimper

by Mike Mahern | Mon, Jan 2nd 1:38am EST

Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay was not able to sustain his recent hot streak of production in his team's Week 17 loss to the New York Jets. Clay was second on the team in targets with seven, but caught just three of them for 20 yards, and no touchdowns.

Fantasy Impact:

It was virtually impossible for Clay to keep up his solid pace, with the Bills using this game to take prospective looks at QBs EJ Manuel and Cardale Jones, neither of whom saw more than a handful of snaps so far this season. Clay's prospects going into next season will largely be contingent upon the incoming coaching staff, as well as a potential change in personnel at QB. As he showed over his last several games (not including this one), he can be a valuable fantasy asset when given the opportunity.
