Alex Smith plays like Alex Smith against Steelers

by Mike Maher | Mon, Jan 16th 12:59pm EST

Alex Smith threw for 172 yards with one touchdown and one interception on Sunday Night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He completed 22 of his 34 passes and ended the night with a 5.1 yards-per-attempt average.

Fantasy Impact:

This is pretty much who Alex Smith is. He is an average quarterback who will take what is given to him but does not often push the ball down the field, as evidenced by his low yards-per-attempt average. Unfortunately for Smith and the Chiefs, his performance last night was not enough to beat the Steelers. Smith remains a quarterback who is not a viable option for fantasy owners.
