Panthers lose rookie RB Tyler Gaffney for the season

Panthers rookie running back Tyler Gaffney from Stanford, tore his lateral meniscus and will be placed on season ending injured reserve. (ESPN)
Fantasy Impact:
Tyler Gaffney was considered depth for the Panthers at running back during his rookie season and would have served on special teams had he made the final roster. The Panthers will now bring in another running back to compete for a roster spot, as well as be a camp body for Jonathan Stewart while he recovers from his hamstring injury. DeAngelo Williams is now the favorite for an early season workload along with Mike Tolbert serving as the 3rd down back. Gaffney’s injury could have also secured Kenjon Barner’s spot on the roster.
