Terrelle Pryor likely to be retained by Browns

by Anthony Cervino | Tue, Jan 24th 3:13pm EST

NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports the Cleveland Browns "are very likely to place the franchise tag" on wide receiver Terrelle Pryor this offseason. (Jason La Canfora on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Pryor, a converted quarterback now a rising stud wideout, had a breakout year at his new position in 2016. He caught 77 targets for 1,007 yards receiving and four touchdowns in 16 games played. Now that the Browns signed Jamie Collins to a lucrative extension Monday, the door is open for the team to place the franchise tender on Pryor and lock him up for at least the 2017 campaign. The Browns are rebuilding and attempting to change their losing culture under head coach Hue Jackson and soon, they'll likely have their top players on both sides of the ball signed for the upcoming season.
