Jared Cook to be a 'priority' for Packers to re-sign this offseason

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers told ESPN tight end Jared Cook "needs to be near the top of the priority list, the way he played this year.” (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

Re-signing Cook, an impending free agent, will be on the top of Green Bay's priority list this offseason if the club wants to please Aaron Rodgers. Arguably for the first time since Jermichael Finley, Rodgers has a reliable pass-catching tight end to feature in the passing game. Dealing with a sprained ankle in 2016, Cook only played in 10 regular season games. He caught 30 targets for 337 yards and touchdowns. But he really came alive in the playoffs, in which he caught 18-of-32 targets for 229 yards and a pair of scores in three games. If he re-ups with Green Bay, he'll likely be a primary contributor to their offense in what would be his second year with the club.
