Jadeveon Clowney undergoes surgery

Houston Texans pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney (knee) underwent arthroscopic knee surgery shortly following the team's elimination from the playoffs. He withdrew from the Pro Bowl as a result. (John McClain on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Clowney had struggled to remain healthy for the first two seasons of his NFL career. However, in 2016, he played in 14 games, produced his best statistical season as a pro and is beginning to live up to his draft potential -- he was the No. 1 overall pick in 2014. Clowney finished 2016 with 52 total tackles, six sacks, a forced fumble and two pass deflections. If J.J. Watt returns anywhere close his dominating form, and Clowney continues to play at an elite level, Houston's defense will once again be a force in 2017.
