Carson Palmer's NFL future in question

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Arizona Cardinals are unsure if quarterback Carson Palmer will return next season. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Rapoport adds that some sources close to the Cardinals believe Palmer will return, while league sources believe the signal caller will retire. After an outstanding 2015 campaign, Palmer, 37, had a mediocre 2016. Playing in 15 games, he produced a 4,233-24-14 quarterback stat line and is beginning to show signs of aging as well as the wear and tear on his body. If Palmer retires, the Cardinals would immediately be in the Tony Romo sweepstakes assuming he played his last down in Dallas.
