Larry Fitzgerald's NFL future in question

by Anthony Cervino | Sun, Jan 29th 3:36pm EST

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Arizona Cardinals are unsure if wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald will return next season. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Similar to the Carson Palmer scenario, Rapoport said sources close to the Cardinals believe Fitzgerald will return in 2017, while league sources believe he will walk away and retire. However, different from Palmer, Fitzgerald, 33, continues to play well despite his age. After moving to the slot in 2015, Fitzgerald had a career resurgence that extended into 2016. He put together back to back seasons with at least 107 receptions, 1,023 yards receiving and six touchdowns. Although Fitzgerald told friends that 2016 would be his final year in the league, he has yet to announce his retirement, leaving the door open for a 2017 return.
