Ryan Tannehill to avoid surgery

by Anthony Cervino | Titans Correspondent | Mon, Jan 30th 9:14am EST

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill (knee) "is not believed" to require an ACL reconstruction in his left knee before the start of the 2017 season. He will undergo an MRI Monday to confirm his diagnosis. (NFL.com)

Fantasy Impact:

About a month and a half removed from suffering a torn ACL in Week 14 of the regular season, Tannehill received outstanding news. He is not expected to need reconstructive surgery to repair the tear in his left knee, which ultimately ended his season. He will undergo an MRI Monday to confirm the initial diagnosis. Tannehill, who underwent a "healing procedure" by Dr. James Andrews in December, will likely continue his alternative route to his recovery in the offseason. He is expected to travel to Germany for the Regenokine procedure -- "a form of platelet-rich plasma therapy made famous by Lakers star Kobe Bryant," which "promotes healing." Barring a setback, Tannehill will be available for the team's offseason program.
