J.J. Watt to be ready for OTAs

by Anthony Cervino | Wed, Feb 1st 1:08pm EST

Houston Texans pass rusher J.J. Watt (back) told the media he is "fully cleared" for football activities and that he "sees no reason why he won't be ready for OTAs." (Aaron Wilson on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Watt only appeared in three games in 2016, missing 13 of which due to a back injury. He underwent surgery to repair a herniated disc in September, which ultimately ended his season despite the hopes of the team, and Watt, that he would be available to return at some point during the year. Instead, he'll rehab, train and prepare to be fully ready for the 2017 campaign. His first stop, OTAs, at which he is expected to be a full participant. A healthy Watt will only improve a Texans defense that finished 2016 ranked No. 1 in total defense.
