Shane Vereen could be released this offseason

NJ.com's James Kratch believes New York Giants running back Shane Vereen could be released this offseason. Kratch adds that Vereen is "one of the least likely cuts on the list, but it's a possibility." (NJ.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Vereen, who is coming off of two triceps surgeries in 2016, could become "expendable" this offseason. The Giants saw the emergence of Paul Perkins at the tails end of the regular season, which opens up the door for a possible parting ways with Vereen or Rashad Jennings, who are both veteran backs. If Vereen is cut, the Giants will save $3.7 million against the cap.
