Aldon Smith involved in weekend incident

by Anthony Cervino | Tue, Feb 14th 8:51am EST

ESPN's Paul Gutierrez reports Oakland Raiders pass rusher Aldon Smith was allegedly involved in an incident over this past weekend in San Francisco. Gutierrez states that Smith was "mentioned" in a police report taken by the SFPD. However, the "exact details of the report were not made public" as of yet. "He is cooperating with SFPD and the reporting party," Officer Grace Gatpandan said via ESPN. "The report was taken over the weekend, and he was mentioned in the report." (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

Smith is serving a one-year suspension for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy. After filing for his reinstatement in the fall, Smith will be eligible to be reinstated in March as long as he remains out of trouble. However, this past weekend's incident could deter his reinstatement if he was involved in any wrongdoing. If the league grants him his reinstatement, Smith will join a Raiders defense that already employs a pair of prominent pass rushers that include the 2016-2017 Defensive Player of the Year, Khalil Mack, and Bruce Irvin.
