Adrian Peterson headed to free agency

The Minnesota Vikings have announced that they will not exercise running back Adrian Peterson's 2017 option. (James Palmer on Twitter)

Peterson and the Vikings are parting ways after 10 seasons. As the team will not exercise his 2017 option, Peterson will become a free agent on March 9, which is the start of the new league year. Expect the Cowboys, Giants and Patriots to have an interest in the 31-year-old running back's services for 2017.
