Washington Redskins tight end Vernon Davis told the media he intends to re-sign with the Redskins this offseason, citing head coach Jay Gruden as a "big reason why" he wants to remain with the club. (CSN Mid-Atlantic)

If Davis indeed re-signs with Washingon, it would be a positive for the club. Starting tight end Jordan Reed has major durability concerns, and Davis is a capable veteran backup who could step in fill the hole that Reed's absence would make. In 16 games last season, Davis compiled a 44-583-2 stat line, his best statistical year since 2014.
