Alshon Jeffery, Bears 'open to a reunion'

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting the Chicago Bears and wide receiver Alshon Jeffery's agent had a "positive meeting" on Saturday, later adding that "both sides are more than open to a reunion." (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Although the Bears did not place the franchise tag on Jeffery for the second straight year, it appears that retaining the wideout is not out of the question. As Rapoport reported, Jeffery's agent and the Bears had a "positive meeting" on Saturday, which is good news if they actually intend to re-sign him with the free agency signing period set to begin on March 9. If the two sides are unable to come together on a long-term deal, Jeffery is expected to be heavily pursued by the Eagles, Titans and 49ers. He would make an immediate impact as a WR1 on any one of the aforementioned clubs.
