SF Waives Jacobs, signs Lewis

The Niners announced their latest roster move on Saturday, waiving the injured WR Chuck Jacobs to make a roster spot for WR Lance Lewis on the team. Jacobs, an undrafted Free Agent who spent 2013 on the teams practice squad, tore his ACL on a kickoff return in Thursdays preseason game. (49ers.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Jacobs was a long shot to join the teams crowded wide receiver group in the regular season, and Lewis (a fellow practice squad venturer) is just as much of an underdog. Jacobs will most likely spend the entire 2014 season unsigned as he works to recover from the serious injury.
