Jamaal Charles to visit Seahawks

by Anthony Cervino | Thu, Mar 9th 7:09am EST

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting there is a "mutual interest" between the Seattle Seahawks and running back Jamaal Charles. Rapoport later added that Charles will meet with the club when he begins visiting teams. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Aside from a small rumor that Charles could land with the Eagles due to their need at running back and his rapport with head Coach Doug Pederson from their days in Kansas City, there has not been very many suitors breaking down the door for his services. However, on Thursday morning, Rapoport said that Charles and the Seahawks have a "mutual interest." The Seahawks, who already have Thomas Rawls and C.J. Prosise set to open the 2017 season as the team's one-two punch in the backfield, could be in the mix to sign the all-time leading rusher in Chiefs' history. Both Rawls and Prosise are coming off of injury-stricken years in 2016. And for Rawls, he's been in and out of the lineup with multiple injuries since his rookie year in 2015. If Charles lands in Seattle, he could have a featured role if his health remains intact. With free agency set to open at 4 pm Thursday, Charles could begin to see more action once the running back market begins to take shape.
