Tony Romo could remain with Dallas past the NFL Draft

by Anthony Cervino | Mon, Mar 27th 7:29pm EDT

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting the situation with the Dallas Cowboys and Tony Romo "isn't ending anytime soon." (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Rapoport added that not only could Romo remain with the Cowboys up to April's draft, but he could linger as a member of the team for the foreseeable future. "It could continue not only up to the draft but past the draft," Rapoport said Monday via Twitter. "Buckle up." In other words, it appears that the Cowboys will continue to hold on to Romo as long as possible in an attempt to garner value in return for his services. The Texans are Romo's likeliest destination but do not seem willing to trade with the Cowboys. Instead, they will likely hold out and wait until Dallas ultimately releases him. The Texans do have options, however, if they can't land Romo. Colin Kaepernick and Jay Cutler are both available free agents and the team appears ready and willing to enter 2017 with Tom Savage under center.
