Tom Savage the favorite to enter 2017 as Texans' starter

by Anthony Cervino | Tue, Apr 4th 8:15am EDT

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting the Houston Texans are "moving forward" with Tom Savage and will "likely" address the quarterback position in the NFL Draft. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

In the wake of the Tony Romo news out of Dallas -- he is retiring -- Rapoport said the Texans will move forward with Savage. He is the favorite to enter the upcoming season as the team's starting quarterback. However, the Texans are still fully expected to target a signal caller in the NFL Draft due to the uncertainties that surround Savage. He's only appeared in five games in his three-year career and is tremendously inexperienced to carry a potential Super Bowl contending team. The Texans could also look in the direction of Colin Kaepernick and Jay Cutler, who are both available free agents.
