LeGarrette Blount, Patriots have 'mutual interest' in reunion

by Anthony Cervino | Wed, Apr 5th 2:55pm EDT

NFL.com is reporting the New England Patriots and free agent running back LeGarrette Blount have a "mutual interest" in a reunion for the 2017 season. "I know LeGarrette Blount would like to return to the Patriots," NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said earlier in the week via network programming. "I know the Patriots would like him back." (NFL.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Although the Patriots recently brought free agent running back Adrian Peterson in for a visit, he did not sign a contract leaving the door open for Blount to potentially return to the team. Blount, 30, is lingering on the open market and has not garnered very much interest from teams around the league despite rushing for 1,161 yards and 18 touchdowns last season while averaging 3.9 YPC. Except the Patriots and Blount to work out a deal at some point this offseason if the aging rusher lowers his asking price.
