Desmond Trufant signs monster extension with Atlanta
by Anthony Cervino | Sat, Apr 8th 9:32am EDT
ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting the Atlanta Falcons and defensive back Desmond Trufant have agreed to terms on a five-year contract extension worth "almost" $69 million that includes $42 million in guaranteed money on Saturday. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Now that Trufant re-signed with Atlanta until 2021, the Falcons are all but out of the Richard Sherman sweepstakes. The 26-year-old cornerback only played in nine games in 2016 due to a torn pectoral muscle that landed him on the season-ending injured reserve list. Although he is still recovering from the injury, Trufant is fully expected to be ready for the start of training camp in late-July.
