Doug Martin expected to attend OTAs

by Anthony Cervino | Mon, Apr 10th 8:32am EDT

The USA Today is reporting Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin "is set to participate in OTA’s and will be given the chance to prove himself this preseason." (BucsWire.USAToday.com)

Fantasy Impact:

It appears that Martin will indeed attend Tampa Bay's offseason workouts that begin in the spring. The recently troubled running back is set to serve out the remainder of his four-game suspension to start the 2017 season stemming from a violation of the league's PED policy in December. If Martin is retained by the Buccaneers, expect him to have to compete for his starting job as Jacquizz Rodgers and Charles Sims were both re-signed this offseason. However, if Tampa Bay brings in a notable rusher via free agency or in the upcoming NFL Draft, Martin's future with the team should be considered in danger. He is not a lock to be on Tampa Bay's 53-man roster come September making his fantasy value uncertain.
