Carlos Hyde, 49ers heading for a split?

by Anthony Cervino | Wed, Apr 12th 2:21pm EDT

Tony Pauline of DraftAnalyst.com is suggesting the San Francisco 49ers are "ready to give up" on running back Carlos Hyde due to his injury issues. (Draft Analyst)

Fantasy Impact:

Pauline added that the 49ers are "very high" on former LSU rusher Leonard Fournette and "are seriously considering using the second [overall] pick of the draft to acquire him." If San Francisco is indeed "ready" to move on from Hyde, Fournette to the 49ers is a strong possibility. Hyde has struggled with injuries since being drafted by San Francisco 57th overall in 2014. He's missed 14 of a possible 48 career games including 12 of his last 32. Although the 25-year-old running back is productive while on the field, his health could be too much of a question mark for San Francisco's new front office regime to depend on for the duration of a 16-game season.
