Doug Martin to attend offseason workouts

by Anthony Cervino | Mon, Apr 17th 9:37am EDT

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin will participate in the team's offseason workouts. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Rapoport adds that Martin is "out of rehab and in a good place." The troubled rusher checked into a rehab facility in January after violating the league's PED policy testing positive for Adderal with two weeks remaining in the 2016 season. Martin's future with the team is in question, however. He will serve the remaining three games of his four-game suspension to start the 2017 campaign and the Buccaneers could elect to move on from Martin as a result -- especially if they ask him to take a pay cut and he declines. Currently, with Martin set to miss the first three games of the upcoming season, Charles Sims and Jacquizz Rodgers are in line to handle the running back duties for Tampa Bay. However, if they add a notable free agent rusher, or address the position early in the draft, Martin's days with the Buccaneers would likely be numbered.
