Tyler Eifert's training camp availability in question

by Anthony Cervino | Tue, Apr 18th 8:36am EDT

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert (back) told the media he "feels great" after undergoing offseason back surgery, but is uncertain about when he will be able to "fully participate" in offseason activities. When asked about his availability for training camp, Eifert replied: "I don't know. I'll have to see how I'm feeling and go from there." (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

Eifert is recovering from offseason back surgery and is "unsure" about his training camp availability. The fourth-year veteran is coming off of an injury-plagued 2016 campaign in which he only appeared in eight games and produced a 29-394-5 stat line. Injuries have irked Eifert throughout his career. The 26-year-old tight end missed 27 of a possible 64 games but is uber productive when is on the field, especially in the end zone, securing 20 touchdowns in his career. For the upcoming fantasy football campaign, Eifert should be viewed a middling TE1 who could produce elite TE1 numbers if his health remains intact, a feat that is extremely questionable due to his history.
