Bruce Ellington sits out of minicamp

by Anthony Cervino | Thu, Apr 27th 8:57am EDT

San Francisco 49ers beat writer Matt Maiocco is reporting wide receiver Bruce Ellington (soft tissue injury) sat out of minicamp with a soft tissue injury unrelated to his hamstring issue that sidelined him for the entire 2016 season. (Matt Maiocco on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

The 49ers cleaned house this offseason and added a new regime both in the front office and on the player personnel end. Focusing on the wide receiver depth chart, San Francisco brought in Pierre Garcon, Aldrick Robinson and Marquise Goodwin, while retaining Jeremy Kerley and parting ways with Torrey Smith. For Ellington, who has battled injuries throughout his three-year career missing 22 games since 2014, his roster spot could be in jeopardy if he continues to be bitten by the injury bug.
