Matt Jones being shopped by Redskins

by Anthony Cervino | Fri, Apr 28th 9:21am EDT

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting the Washington Redskins are shopping running back Matt Jones. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Jones, whose been inconsistent since entering the league in 2015, could be on his way out of Washington this weekend. It appears that the Redskins have put the 24-year-old rusher on the trading block. Entering last season, Jones was their top running back, but by Week 7, because of injuries and ball security issues, he was benched in favor of Rob Kelley. Jones didn't see the field again for the remainder of the 2016 season, finishing the year with 533 total yards and three touchdowns. Rapoport adds that if the Redskins indeed trade Jones, they will be in the market to add a running back, likely in the draft. Currently, Kelley and Chris Thompson are the top two backs on Washington's depth chart.
