Doug Martin 'impressive' at offseason workouts

by Anthony Cervino | Fri, Apr 28th 9:34am EDT

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that a source close to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers said running back Doug Martin has been the "most impressive player thus far in training" during offseason workouts. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Rapoport adds that Martin's "impressive" workouts could be "one reason why" the Buccaneers did not take Dalvin Cook 19th overall Thursday. Instead, they selected O.J. Howard, the top tight end on the board. However, passing on Cook doesn't mean Tampa Bay is not going to target a running back in the draft. Entering the second round Friday, Cook remains on the board as well as Alvin Kamara and D'Onta Foreman. For Martin, he will need to continue his good fortune throughout the offseason to maintain a roster spot for the 2017 campaign.
