The Washington Redskins have selected former Arkansas tight end Jeremy Sprinkle with the 154th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Sprinkle has solid hands and is an excellent run blocker, a perfect backup for Jordan Reed in Washington. Although the Redskins already have Vernon Davis as their No. 2 tight end, Sprinkle could open 2017 ahead of Niles Paul on the depth chart at the No. 3 spot, eventually taking over for Davis in 2018. However, Reed is not the most durable asset in the NFL, and if he is struck by injury once again, Sprinkle could find himself in an expanded role at different points during the season. Still, avoid him in fantasy drafts as he just won't see the field enough to make an impact.
