Samaje Perine could open 2017 as Rob Kelley's handcuff
by Anthony Cervino | Broncos Correspondent | Mon, May 1st 6:52pm EDT
Washington Redskins beat writer John Keim believes rookie Samaje Perine is an "instant challenger" to Robert Kelley's starting running back job. (ESPN)
Fantasy Impact:
Perine's addition to the Redskins' backfield likely spells the end for Matt Jones in Washington. If and likely when Washington moves on from Jones, Perine will move up to the No. 2 spot on the RB depth chart behind Kelley, with Chris Thompson steadfast as the team's change of pace back/ primary receiver out of the backfield. Perine should be on the early fantasy radar as Kelley's handcuff, especially if Jones is ultimately let go.
