Shane Vereen good to go for OTAs

by Anthony Cervino | Mon, May 22nd 7:54am EDT

ESPN's Jordan Raanan is reporting New York Giants running back Shane Vereen (triceps) is "healthy" after tearing his triceps twice during the 2016 season. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

Vereen is expected to return to the Giants in 2017 as the team's primary receiver out of the backfield. Raanan is also suggesting that the veteran rusher is New York's "top contingency plan" behind starter Paul Perkins. From a fantasy perspective, Vereen should be viewed as Perkins' handcuff and targeted as such in the latter rounds of upcoming fantasy drafts. Vereen will maintain PPR value even if Perkins remains the starter and healthy throughout the year as he's been a sure-handed and reliable receiver for the duration of his career.
