Charles Sims cleared for OTAs

by Anthony Cervino | Tue, May 23rd 2:34pm EDT

Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat writer Scott Smith is reporting running back Charles Sims (shoulder) has been medically cleared for OTAs. (Scott Smith on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Sims, who is coming off shoulder surgery, practiced on the first day of OTAs Tuesday. The 26-year-old rusher is expected to compete with Jacquizz Rodgers for the starting running back job to open the 2017 season with Doug Martin set to miss the first three games due to a suspension. However, I'd expect Sims to resume his role as Tampa Bay's No. 2 back and primary pass-catching specialist for the duration of the campaign.
