Rasul Douglas taking first-team reps in practice

Rasul Douglas, taken by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, has begun taking first-team reps at cornerback in practice. While playing behind the newly-acquired veteran cornerback Patrick Robinson on the depth chart for much of the offseason program, Douglas has reportedly impressed head coach Doug Pederson enough to get a look with the first-team defense. Fantasy Impact:

Philadelphia's secondary is projected to be their weakest unit heading into the season, especially the cornerbacks, and they will need newcomers like Douglas to really step up in order to avoid being one of the worst pass defenses in the league. The team let cornerbacks Nolan Carroll and Leodis McKelvin leave in free agency, and while neither of those names will turn any heads, the Eagles may have actually taken a step back in terms of talent in the secondary, at least in the short term while they develop younger players and wait for second round pick Sidney Jones to recover from an Achilles injury.
