Mercilus "next man up" after Clowney injury

With Jadeveon Clowney likely sidelined for a month, former first-round pick Whitney Mercilus will start at weak-side linebacker for the Texans. (Houston Chronicle)

Mercilus isn't on the same talent-level as Clowney, but he is better in coverage and should play a majority of the snaps for the Texans at outside linebacker. Mercilus totaled 7 sacks in limited action in 2013.
