Cleveland Browns not expected to name starting quarterback until preseason

by Anthony Cervino | Browns Correspondent | Wed, Jul 12th 12:03pm EDT

Cleveland Browns beat writer Mary Kay Cabot believes the team will not name their starting quarterback until the second preseason game. (Cleveland.com)

Fantasy Impact:

The Browns have tremendous question marks at the quarterback position entering training camp, which is why they are not expected to name their starter for the second preseason game, per Cabot. Although they are currently rostering four QBs that include Cody Kessler, DeShoine Kizer, Brock Osweiler and Kevin Hogan, it appears to be a two-man race between Kessler and Kizer as they split first-team reps in spring workouts. Since Kizer is a rookie, Kessler is my favorite to emerge as the Week 1 starter. However, if he struggles, it wouldn't be a surprise if Kizer is under center by the start of the second half of the season.
