Ezekiel Elliott may not have thrown a punch in altercation

The Dallas Fort Worth Star-Telegram is reporting Michael Huffman, a bouncer who was in attendance at the Church Bar Sunday night, sent a private note to the local media outlet stating Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott "didn't do anything" to the unnamed 30-year-old victim. “It didn’t go down like that,” Huffman said Monday. "Everybody is saying that, but he didn’t throw the punch ... Zeke was just standing there arms folded chilling feeling the crowd. Then I seen DJ getting loud toward the vicinity of Zeke and then I see an overhand right come over the back of Zeke shoulder that landed square in DTrain’s face and he went to sleep. He didn’t even see it. Then the crowd circled and dispersed. I’m surprised a whole video hasn’t been released yet.” (Star-Telegram)

Fantasy Impact:

Was Elliott in the wrong place at the wrong time? Or was he directly involved in the altercation which left a 30-year-old victim laid out on the floor of the Church Bar in Dallas, TX? Initially, the second year rusher was named as the antagonist. However, Huffman's statement clearly states Elliott was not involved. Without video evidence, this investigation could linger. With Elliott already facing a "short suspension" from the NFL stemming from a 2016 disturbance, this alleged incident couldn't have come at a worse time. If Elliott is ultimately suspended for any length of time, expect Darren McFadden to emerge as the Cowboys' RB1 with Alfred Morris assuming the RB2 role in the backfield until his return.
