Zach Miller a candidate to be released?

by Anthony Cervino | Tue, Jul 18th 9:19am EDT

Chicago Bears beat writer Mark Potash believes the team has "moved on" from tight end Zach Miller. (The Chicago Sun TImes)

Fantasy Impact:

Potash later added that "Miller probably needs to have a really good camp to stick" with the team entering the 2017 season. Miller, 32, would be entering his ninth NFL season but has only played in 58 of a possible 128 career games. Following Miller, the Bears added Dion Sims in free agency and Adam Shaheen in the second round of April's draft. If Miller is, in fact, released at some point this offseason, I'd expect Shaheen to assume the role of the Bears' primary pass-catching tight end, while Sims is utilized as the team's top blocking TE. From a fantasy football perspective, I wouldn't sleep on Shaheen. He's a late round stash that could pay dividends as the season progresses, even if Miller remains on the roster.
