Cody Kessler to receive first-team reps at camp

Fantasy Impact:
Although Kessler, who Jackson feels "deserves the chance to walk out there first," will get the first team reps at the start of camp, the second year head coach is suggesting that it remains an "open competition" for the starting quarterback job. The second year signal caller is coming off of a mediocre rookie campaign in 2016 in which he produced a 1,380-6-2 stat line in nine games and is familiar with Jackson's system. However, I would expect Brock Osweiler and rookie DeShone Kizer to push Kessler for the top spot on the depth chart for the remainder of the preseason. Currently, Kessler is the favorite to enter Week 1 as the Browns' QB1.
