Shane Vereen to have 'big' role in 2017?

by Anthony Cervino | Tue, Aug 15th 6:44am EDT

New York Giants beat writer Jordan Raanan believes running back Shane Vereen will have a "significant role" in the offense in 2017. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

Vereen, who has dealt with multiple injuries since the start of the 2016 season including a lower body injury which limited him up to this point this offseason, could return to a prominent role in the Giants' offense in 2017. Although Paul Perkins remains the clear-cut starter at running back, Vereen will likely play a tremendous role in the passing game if his health remains intact. In 2015, his first year in New York in which he appeared in all 16 games, Vereen accumulated a 59-495-4 stat line while averaging 8.4 YPC. He is a prime late-round PPR target entering fantasy draft season.
