John Brown remains set back with sickle cell issue

by Anthony Cervino | Thu, Aug 17th 6:30am EDT

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians confirmed that wide receiver John Brown's (quad) sickle cell issue slows down his recovery process. "That's a fact," Arians said via AzCardinals.com. On having to wait for Brown's return to the field, Arians said: "I don’t have any choice. If he can’t run he can’t play. Now, if he can’t run long enough (after he returns), you’ve got to replace him.” (Darren Urban on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Arizona's wide receiver corps has been the center of question marks in recent days. After publicly announcing he wasn't happy with the unit's performance outside of Larry Fitzgerald, Arians deemed Jaron Brown the team's WR2, ahead of John Brown and J.J. Nelson. As for John Brown, he told the press he is not yet fully healed and is not going to "rush back." Although he is practicing, expect the team to take the cautious approach with him for the remainder of the preseason.
