O.J. Howard targeted three times in win over Jaguars

by Mark Leipold | Fri, Aug 18th 12:55pm EDT

O.J. Howard reeled in two of his three targets for 28 yards in a win over the Jaguars. Howard was stopped a few yards short of the goal line on one of his receptions.

Fantasy Impact:

Howard was playing with the starters throughout the first half, and I think we saw what we expected. Both Howard and Cameron Brate were solid, but pulled targets away from each other. It's hard to rank either one as a TE1 in fantasy as long as both are present. Brate is the better bet this season in my mind, as rookie TEs do no often have great success. However, I'm not targeting either one. O.J. Howard is currently being drafted at TE13, which I can't explain. I'd prefer Jack Doyle or Coby Fleener, who are both going later. Howard is a great dynasty prospect, and should be taken in the 6-9 range in most rookie drafts.
