Bilal Powell sees extended action in preseason loss

by Ray Paltooram | Sun, Aug 20th 11:43am EDT

Bilal Powell had a busy first half against the Detroit Lions on Saturday night, as he rushed for 32 yards on nine carries. He also got involved in the passing game, as he caught two passes out of the backfield for 14 yards, including a beautiful 17-yard gain.

Fantasy Impact:

Powell looks to be in mid-season form already, as exhibited on his 17-yard gain early in the second quarter where he showed nice burst up the sideline. There is no player on this Jets team that holds more fantasy value for the upcoming season than Powell, who is primed for a great season and is looking to take over the starting RB job for good. Because he isn't touchdown-dependent (and not many Jets players will be this season), he will carry more value in PPR leagues, as he is a dual threat both in the running and passing game. Look to target Powell as your RB2 in your upcoming re-draft leagues, and don't be surprised if he delivers RB1 results.
