Paul Perkins bottled up against Browns
by Mark Leipold | Tue, Aug 22nd 12:39pm EDT
Paul Perkins finished with six carries for ten yards against the Browns. His longest rush was 16 yards.
Fantasy Impact:
You read that correctly. Perkins totaled -5 yards on his other five carries, as he was hit at or behind the line of scrimmage consistently. His one long run showed a nice cutback and burst of speed into the second level. While Perkins seems a clear starter and his volume is probably safe, the Giants have a subpar run blocking unit that will hurt Perkins from an efficiency standpoint. He's a high floor but low ceiling pick this year that shouldn't be viewed as much more than a flex option or maybe a low-end RB2 (if you don't believe in some of the others ranked higher) with very little upside. Perkins is likely to be a frustrating asset this year.
