Brandon Marshall with lone reception in Week 1 disaster

by Nick Ritrivi | Mon, Sep 11th 9:41am EDT

Brandon Marshall was held to just one catch on four targets for 10 yards in the Giants' absolutely vile 19-3 Week 1 loss to Dallas.

Fantasy Impact:

Marshall, who had a Week 1 FantasyPros ECR of 23 in standard leagues (25 ECR in PPR formats), was only targeted four times in the game with Odell Beckham out due to injury. His one catch came with about 30 seconds remaining in the game during garbage time. The Giants' game plan was totally disjointed and their OL was completely dominated by Dallas, two factors which directly resulted in Marshall's poor statistics. Marshall (and the entire Giants' offense) will try to get back on track in Week 2 against the Lions at home next Monday night. If Beckham returns, and the OL can rebound, Marshall should be a more viable fantasy asset. That said, given the OL woes, Marshall owners may need to significantly temper expectations until (and unless) the Giants' poor performing OL is fixed.
